About this place
The Danish French toast has a satisfying chew as well as a soft texture. One diner described it served chilled and cut into bite-sized pieces, with berry sauce, vanilla ice cream, mango and kiwi; combining the fruit and sauce made it enjoyable to the last bite. A seasonal strawberry version also won praise: a generous plate of thick-cut Danish pastry with fresh strawberries, ice cream and custard whipped cream. The menu also lists a honey Danish French toast plate for anyone in the mood to make dessert the main event.
The Danish-style tiramisu parfait is another dessert to look out for, with the distinctive addition of rye-bread crumble. Cake plates offer a choice of Danish cream cheese cake or apple tart. One diner enjoyed the tart’s tender apple, crisp pastry and the crunch of the rusk served alongside it.
Drinks include Danish Blend coffee made with a French press, café latte served hot or iced, and several teas. One customer found the French-press Danish Blend light and easy to drink, noting that a little sediment remained at the bottom of the cup. To go with something sweet, choose from teas such as Earl Grey, Darjeeling or Queen’s Blend, scented with bergamot.
For lunch, the soup plate pairs minestrone with grilled vegetables, salad and 4 kinds of bread: walnut and raisin, rye, milk bread and baguette. A diner who ordered it enjoyed the hearty soup and 4 kinds of bread, and found the portion just right. For a more substantial meal, there is potato lasagne layered with potato salad between the pasta, or a hamburger steak with creamy demi-glace sauce.
KAFFE OTTE offers both dine-in and takeaway, and is suited to solo meals as well as a dessert break. On the 2 floor of the Wings building at Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store, it can serve as a spot for anything from a sweet pause to a midday meal of bread and soup.
